歴史は、私たちと共に長く横たわるものである。
しかし書物や記録から見えるのは、その表面的な断片に過ぎない。そのことを黒いミニチュア人形の直線で表現している。
また歴史に記されることのない無数の人々の暮らしも想像していくことだろう。その存在は黒い直線から生まれる上下のランダムな影によって暗示される。カラフルな人々は現在を生きる私たち自身を象徴している。
たとえ今は見えなくても確かに存在してきた過去から、私たちは様々なメッセージを受け取りながら生きている。歴史を感じることは、今この瞬間を生きることに繋がっている。
History lies long and quietly beside us.
Yet what we see through books and records is only its surface fragments.
This idea is expressed through a straight line of black miniature figures.
At the same time, we begin to imagine the countless lives that were never recorded in history.
Their presence is suggested by the random shadows cast above the below the black line.
The colorful figures represent us - the ones living in the present.
Even if their are not visible now, we live while receiving countless messages from a past that surely existed.
To feel the presence history is to feel the very moment we live in.
And in time, we too will become part of an unseen history.
